Art Cage Doll (Santos Doll)

The Santos that started the genre of dolls we currently represent (primarily Spanish Colonial and Western European style), were originally started as copies of 17th century carvings by priests. They make a beautiful addition to your home decor and are super fun to make when you add personal touches to the cage.

In this class you will create a 17in tall wooden bodied Cage Doll* and learn how to form the wire cage, add embellishments, sculpt hair out of paper clay, and paint a primitive finish over the doll portion. This is an all day class with an hour for lunch, on your own. Drinks and snacks provided. All supplies included. We have some embellishments and teacups ,but if you would like to make it extremely personal, please bring your own trinkets and teacups.

*(The doll pictured has personal items including the crown. We do not have extra crowns but you can create one with sheet metal.)
